Chilton's GM;TOTAL CARE 1988-1992
I RECENTLY GOT AN 88 CUTLASS, AND I MISTAKENLY GOT A HAYNES BOOK INSTEAD OF CHILTONS. THE HAYNES WASN'T AS SIMPLEY PUT AND EFFICIENT AS CHILTON'S WAS. IT ISN'T BIG ENOUGH TO BE IN THE WAY, YET NOT SMALL ENOUGH TO GET LOST! I RECCOMEND THIS TO ALL BEGGINERS AT FIXING UP CARS!

Cowboys, miners, presidents & kings : the story of the Grand Canyon Railway
Published in Unknown Binding by Grand Canyon Pioneers Society ()

Outstanding history of the Grand Canyon Railway!
This book is a must if you love steam engines, the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railroad history and the revival of railroad excursion trips to the Grand Canyon

Cub Scout grand prix : pinewood derby guidebook
Published in Unknown Binding by Boy Scouts of America ()
Average review score:

A must have for your first Pinewood Derby
This short book has everything in it for those new to the Cub Scout's Pinewood Derby. The book walks the reader through the Pinewood Derby rules, designing and building the car (graph-paper included), a Pinewood Derby song (set to Camptown Races), and coaching hints for the parent. As a bonus, there are also sections on making Space Derby rockets and Sailboat (Raingutter) Regatta boats.

This is a great book, containing everything that the scout will need. There is information on the use and placement of weights and lubricant, which is something every Scout *must* know. It's a wonder to me that this book is not automatically given to every Scout before his first Pinewood Derby! If your first Derby is coming up, then you *must* get this book!

Dallas Fort Worth and the Metroplex: #1 Guide to Addison, Arlington, Farmers Branch, Garland, Grand Prairie, Grapevine, Irving, Mesquite, North Richland Hills, Plano, Richardson (Serial)
Published in Paperback by Texas Monthly Pr (September, 1997)
Authors: Robert Rafferty and Loys Reynolds
Average review score:

Bravo!
As a 25 year resident of the Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex, I must say this man knows his stuff. His ratings of the restaurants are dead on and his discriptions of the cities is not only factual but also amusing. There are things he found I didn't know about and are dying to check out. This is a must read for anyone who wants to know some little known facts about this great metroplex.

Death and Birth: The Great Illusion and The Grand Parable
Published in Paperback by Oatmeal Publishers (01 June, 2002)
Author: George W. Davis
Average review score:

Fresh air
What makes this book so refreshing is the author's approach: "I set about to look into the histories of some of our favorite faith words and found that those histories repeatedly guided me back to the theme of death and birth." The Great Illusion is death; the Grand Parable is new birth. The 15+ chapters investigate words like "resurrection", "heaven", "angels," "Satan", etc., using history, literary analysis, and etymology to dig into the meaning of the words and stories of the Bible when they were written. In the introduction the author writes: "We need a way to read scripture that can help us to focus on the enduring goodness of God in a day when the faith is too often presented as a barrier rather than a doorway." This little book does exactly that. It retrieves a sense of love and grace and presence from the Old and New Testament that I thought had been lost to Fundamentalism. This is a moving (and accessible!) book for people of any faith, since the truths it re-discovers are timeless (see the chapter on "eternal"). (And it made me want to go back and re-read Owen Barfield.) Each (short) chapter includes discussion questions that make this book appropriate for adult study groups.

Disney Pooh's Grand Adventure: The Search for Christopher Robin
Published in Hardcover by Disney Press (July, 1997)
Authors: Bruce Talkington, John Kurtz, and Jon Kurtz
Average review score:

WHAT I THINK
This book is very educating for young people. It is a good book because most kids fall in love the the characters of Pooh and his "gang." This is kind of a mystery book for the kid also, and introduces them into the world of reading suspense. I would reccomend this to any parent as a good book for there children.

Dostoevsky: Grand Inquisitor On the Nature of Man
Published in Paperback by Prentice Hall (01 January, 1948)
Authors: Fyodor Dostoyevsky and Constance Garnett
Average review score:

Powerful and more relevant today than ever!
This is the best short piece I've ever read. This fictional dialogue between the head of the Inquisition and Jesus is more than just a metaphorical commentary on the debate over whether or not humans willingly give up their existential freedom in order to avoid the sometimes awesome responsibility that accompanies it. Dostoyevsky's classic also serves as a powerful critique of institutional religion and, by implication, all institutions (gov't, education, corporations, welfare system, etc.) who offer "bread" in exchange for the sacrifice of free choice. A "must read" for educators, social scientists, politicians, organizational consultants, policymakers, and corporate executives.
